Reiki for People and Pets
The word “Reiki”, pronounced “ray-key”, comes from two Japanese words. “Rei” means higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness, the wisdom that comes from God. “Ki”, which is the same as the Chinese chi or ji, is the life force energy that animates all living things. One definition of Reiki is “God guided life force energy.
Reiki is a healing art that was developed in Japan almost 100 years ago by Mikao Usui, a Buddhist lay priest and spiritual teacher. Originally, Reiki was focused on personal healing and spiritual growth. Reiki was brought to the USA shortly before the second world war and the focus of Reiki in the western world has been more on Reiki as a healing modality than on Reiki for personal healing and spiritual growth.
There is a difference between Western and Japanese Reiki. Western Reiki stems from the original Japanese Reiki so there are similarities. But there are also differences. Japanese Reiki comprises forms that stem directly from Usui Sensei’s original teachings and have not (yet) been influenced by the west.
Margaret is now practicing and teaching Reiki based more on the Japanese philosophy as a method of spiritual growth and personal healing first and then a healing modality for working with others second. She works with students and clients who are ready to take responsibility for their own health and lives.
Margaret offers both Private Reiki Sessions for those who wish to receive Reiki from her and Reiki Workshops for those who wish to learn Reiki so they may practice it themselves. She also offers Animal Reiki which was not a part of the original Japanese form of Reiki but is a wonderful extension of Reiki to help our animal friends in their healing.
A Private Reiki Session has many benefits including positive states of consciousness and spiritual experiences. It is a powerful tool for personal and spiritual development. Reiki has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury. It complements other forms of treatment, both conventional and alternative, for people, pets and even plants.
Margaret offers hands-on Reiki sessions for people at her home in the Chattanooga, TN area. A private session may include a Reiki table session, an attunement, a consultation or a tutoring session. Private sessions are tailored to your needs. Margaret also offers remote Reiki sessions if it not convenient for you to come to Chattanooga.
Note: In person sessions that were discontinued because of the pandemic
will be available again soon.
Animal Reiki Sessions are available as distant healing. Reiki is an ideal healing modality for animals offering emotional and physical healing in a non-invasive way most animals find comfortable. Margaret is trained in Animal Reiki and offers remote sessions to animals anywhere.
Reiki Workshops at Reiki Chattanooga are based on the Japanese form of Reiki as first a method of self-practice and later a healing modality to assist others. Reiki is taught in three levels or degrees. Level I Reiki, Shoden in the Japanese tradition, focuses on using Reiki for self-healing and spiritual growth, Level II Reiki, Okuden in the Japanese tradition, continues the practice of Reiki for self-healing and includes the use of Reiki to facilitate healing in others. Level III Reiki, Shinpiden in the Japanese tradition, focuses on teaching Reiki to others. Students are invited to progress from one level to another as they feel they are ready.
Reiki Workshops are taught in the Chattanooga area. Directions will be provided when you register.
Reiki Chattanooga now offers Animal Reiki and teaches Animal Reiki as a part of Shoden and Okuden (Reiki I and II) workshops.
